Annie came to the farm when she was seven weeks old. Her mother was very ill when we went to see them, and passed the day before we picked them up. Annie did have a couple of surrogate mothers when she arrived. Orchis, Saturn and Hillaria took turns keeping her close and made her feel cared for, even though she was no longer able to nurse. So she was weaned at an early age and will probably remain one of smaller goats.
She has learned to take care of herself, and though polled, she has learned to “box out anyone that tries to take her spot on the big step”. The low center of gravity is an excellent characteristic when you are trying to push around a larger goat. She is feisty and stands her ground well. She has had no problems from other goats, and has acclimated well as an adult.
