Bailey

Bailey, where to start. In case you don’t know, most goat herds have a leader, and it usually is a female. Bailey is our herd queen. After observing our herd queen, we have found that the qualities of a herd leader are, just like royalty. Have no friends that aren’t also royals. Treat everyone around you with contempt. Take all the best, of everything, for yourself. Let the rest eat cake, or hay in this case. Must be strong, intimidating, and leave all the small decisions to underlings.

She doesn’t involve herself in petty conflicts within the herd. She has referees and mediators for that. What she does try to do, is keep an eye out, and be cautious when they travel out of the safety of the hard wired enclosure, to the relative safety of the electric, movable, temporary enclosure. Sometimes however, the herd want to go out, and she might seem too cautious. So they go out, and she joins them as if to say, this was my idea.

When she gives an alarm, all the goats and Allison listen. This hasn’t really happened much as they are really in a safe location. They could see any predator big enough to take on a goat herd. They have horns and would use them well to defend the herd.
